Airflats

Airflats covers 3 districts: Evere, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert and Schaarbeek. These three suburbs are situated in the north-east of Brussels. Within are some import business estates that attract many international companies and expats. In the vicinity are NATO headquarters (Evere) and Brussels National Airport.

As a resident here you will find that there are quite numerous facilities for shopping (Cora, Woluwe Shopping, Carrefour, Rob, Delhaize etc..) in reach by smooth public transport. Chaussée de Louvain which is still a main artery into Brussels when coming from Leuven, has a variety of shops and food facilities on offer.

Bordering Evere, the communes of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert and Woluwe-Saint-Pierre have some splendid parks and lakes such as Park Malou and les Etangs Mellaerts to attract your attention. If you enjoy walking or jogging these surroundings will do nicely.

The Woluwe Shopping Center, one of the largest shopping malls in Belgium, has some trendy ‘boutiques’ and ‘bistros’ to distract you on a rainy day. A nice chance to do some window shopping and to have a coffee break. A parking surface on the ground floor as big as the commercial area above, makes it so much easier when you come by car. When you prefer to leave the car behind and decide to use public transport, the underground station Roodebeek has a direct entrance into Woluwe Shopping Center. From here you have a direct connection to the City Center or other destinations in Brussels.

On the other side of Boulevard de la Woluwe you will find the ancient water mill of Lindekemale, dating back from the 12th century. It survived its only predecessors in Woluwe. This place is not only a very attractive site but happens to be an exquisite restaurant.

Also the little centre of Stockel is worthwile to visit. The Metro will get you there in no time. Here as well you can visit the local shopping mall that holds a splendid variety of fashion shops.

Bordering Evere from the other side is Schaerbeek, a commune that counts approx. 112.000 inhabitants. It’s composed of numerous popular and cosmopolitan areas. Here you will encounter some remarkable sites such as Park Josaphat and many well-preserved Art Deco and Art Nouveau houses. If you enjoy high standard Italian food, it’s well worth booking a table at ‘La Bucca di Bacco’ at Avenue Louis Bertrand.
